The comfort kitchen: everything, just not work

Searching, rummaging, bending, stretching – the joy of cooking can be quickly lost in a kitchen that is not tailored to its users. But how does the kitchen become a comfortable favourite location for the entire family?

The Häfele experts examined design and functionality as an inseparable unit. For this reason, attention was paid to a wide range of practical and ergonomic solutions during the design of the comfort kitchen. You live in this kitchen, not work in it.

The main focus is on the multifunctional kitchen island

The kitchen island is the hub. That which looks like a simple storage space block at first glance reveals its high-tech qualities at the push of a button. The workplace can be moved to the side using remote control. This creates sitting or standing places which provide a considerable amount of legroom.

Use of the space beneath the table top has also been well thought-out. When it is moved to the side, it reveals a warming plate for dishes. Another button press transforms the kitchen into a home cinema: now a TV moves out. Nothing is in the way of great entertainment, since the large drawers of the island provide plenty of storage space for kitchen utensils.

Cabinets and drawers open automatically

There is more storage space in the cabinet above the sink. A short button press opens the flap automatically, which increases the width to two metres. Glasses and crockery now find their place here. The drawers disappear just as obediently back into the base unit. Tapping suffices to open the compartments, which are more than a metre across. The spacious drawers can be loaded with up to 65 kilograms.

Clever use has been made of the area behind the sink. Recessed wall profiles get a grip behind a sliding splash guard made from satinised glass. The holders and hooks will accommodate everything that the working surface throws at them, be it kitchen towels, knives or spices. This niche is therefore made accessible for useful everyday items in the best possible way.

Ergonomics plays a key role

Optimum provisions have also been made for the comfort of the chef. The hob can be automatically moved to the required height. Directly beneath the cooktop there is a handle-less drawer which presents its clearly-organised contents with a gentle finger press. The most important cooking utensils are therefore always quickly in hand. Your back is not at risk when looking into the oven or the steam cooker, since the devices have been recessed in the cabinet wall at a comfortable height. This kitchen leaves nothing to be desired in terms of comfort. Cooking and enjoyment with the family can begin.
