Since its beginnings in 1920s Häfele GmbH has become one of the leading companies in the field of furniture fittings on an international level and serves more customers in more than 150 countries. More than 5,000 employees contribute their share to the success of the company. The major part of the turnover is generated outside of Germany.

Häfele India was established in 2003. Today Häfele India has more than 380 employees, four state-of-the-art design centres and 54 franchisee stores all over India. The company has also forayed into related industries by launching independent product verticals. These include Kitchens, Appliances, Lights and Sanitary to cater to the specific demands of these industries.

Julius Blum GmbH was founded in 1952 by Julius Blum. Today Blum is an internationally active company based in Austria that specialises in the production of furniture fittings. The company’s main product groups are hinge systems, drawer systems and pull-out systems for home furniture, mainly kitchens. Blum’s customers include furniture producers and hardware dealers. More than 6,100 Blum employees in the Blum group contribute their share to manufacturing innovative fittings. Blum has seven plants in Austria and further production sites in Poland, the US and Brazil as well as 27 subsidiaries. Blum products are supplied to more than 100 markets all over the world.

In 2004 the exclusive partnership with Häfele India started. In 2008, the cooperation saw a major change when Maarten De Vries became the first managing director of the liaison office Blum India located in Mumbai. He was succeeded by Martin Herr in 2012. Blum products are now distributed via a nationwide dealer and franchisee network all over India.

Blum and Häfele are both family-owned companies sharing similar values and visions. Service and quality are the main drives in our joint effort of perfecting motion. We expect a major upgrade of the Indian furniture market in the years to come, which will increase demand for high-quality solutions.”
